 1. GOVERNMENT TO MONITOR OTT CONTENT  tier grievance redressal mechanism provides overriding powers for government to step in. For the first time, the government, under the ambit of the Information technology (intermediary guidelines and digital media ethics code) Rules 2021, has brought in detailed guidelines for digital content on both digital media and over the top (OTT) platforms, while giving overriding powers to the government to step in.  One will be at the level of each OTT provider. Each complaint will have to be addressed within 15 days. If the complaint is not satisfactorily addressed, then the complaint can scale it up toa self-regulatory body collectively established by the OTTs. This body will be headed by a retired judge of the supreme court, a High Court, or an independent eminent person from the field of media, broadcasting, entertainment, child rights, human rights or other relevant fields. PM TO INITIATE WORK ON INDIA’S LONGEST BRIDGE ON FEB 18 LONGEST BRIDGE UNTIL NOW:  "At present the longest bridge in India is the 9.15 km long Dhola sadiya bridge which became functional in 2017.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Thursday digitally lay the foundation stone of the fifth Bridge across the Brahmaputra that would be India’s longest river.  «The 19.282 km four-lane bridge, expected to be completed by 2026-27, will connect phulbari in Meghalaya and Dhubri in Poll-bound Assam.  NSDhubri-phulbari Bridge is a proposed Bridge over the Brahmaputra river between Assam and Meghalaya in north-east India.  This Bridge, as per the original plan, would be completed by 2027-28. SOUTH AFRICA DID NOT RETURN ASTRAZENECA VACCINES TO INDIA SAYS COUNTRY’S HEALTH MINISTER   *South Africa’s Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize on Tuesday clarified that the country has not returned the astrazeneca vaccines to the serum Institute of India (SII).  IT would like to clarify a few media reports that said we have returned the vaccines to India.  1.THE "VACCINE PASSPORT’ THAT DENMARK IS GOING TO LAUNCH  «In an effort to reduce curbs on travel and public life, Denmark Wednesday said it is in the process of rolling out a digital passport that would show if holders have been vaccinated against the coronavirus.  «Morten Boedskov, Denmark’s Finance Minister, said in a news conference,‘‘This is aboutus, asa country, exploiting the technical advantages we have.
